For over the evolving years of technology, not all users are completely educated. There are those who excel in the use and practice of media and technology and there are also those who remains to be uneducated. But it would be most preferable if the development of all the possible user is equal to the growth of such tools.

Being a media literate individual would be a great help for students like me, since education and even knowledge nowadays doesn’t only come from mere books and observations alone but also through the use of media it would just be fitting that I equip myself on the proper use, the capability and the value of media.

Living in a developing country seems to lessen the chance to a better education. Quality teachers, mentors and educators (all though not all) leave the country seeking for greener pastures. Those left behind will have to settle with what is provided. Having an educated access to media and information is a great help in attaining knowledge. Teachers and students could seek and verify ideas from the internet to further stabilize the provided information.

            Furthermore, being a media and information literate individual doesn’t only stop at knowing the power of media and information but also by being a critical thinker and a model practitioner of media. One should be able to make use of media to change his environment in a better way. He must behave properly and with utmost responsibility for his actions. Any small information posted in any social media account could make a difference, it could be positive or negative, and that is why a media and information literate individual should be most careful for all his actions in the media world.

            Therefore, being a media and information literate doesn’t only end at knowing enough but also by being a responsible and effective user of media and information because if these tool is used and taken for granted it could ruin one’s life but when properly used it could a great help in spreading knowledgeable information.

Information is a tool to ruin and to create, be wise enough to choose how to say, act and feel, you may not know it but you could ruin someone's life.
